Kalasarpa and Kalamrita Yoga

There are many different and opposite opinions about these yogas today. Some astrologers discard the existance of this Yoga, while those who accept them disagree about their formation and effects. In my tradition, we do beleive that the Yoga exist, however, there are very secret teachings whitout which this yoga becomes impossible to understand. There are places on the net, where the effects and formation of the Yoga was correctly explained, yet the proper use of yoga was not correctly explained, or it was given in a very superficial manner. Also, kindly do not confuse this yoga with Sarpa (Bhujanga) Yoga which is a part of Nabhas (dala) yoga, which has altogether different meaning and explanation, and cannot be understood without understanding of what is nabhas.

1. Kalasarpa Yoga is formed when Rahu leads the group of planets (all planets are between Ketu and Rahu)

2. Kalamrita Yoga is formed when Ketu leads the group of planets (all planets are between Rahu and Ketu)

Most astrologers agree that Yoga is broken when a planet is with the node, and when there are planets in lagna or 7th axis/satya peetha/

Misconceptions about the Yoga

1. When seen the Yoga, most astrologers autmotaically declare that in the case of broken yoga, a person will come to the satya peetha point and become spiritual (kalamrita) or materially prosper (kala sarpa). This is unfortunatelly wrong, and it will never work in all cases. If you do not trust me, take 20 horoscopes of people with these yogas, and examine their life. You will definitelly fail. However, please, keep something in your mind. When these Yogas exist people would normally in one way or another be intereseted in what is so commonly defined as ” sprirituality” today. Today, it is enough that people take interest in phylosophy or read some book, or even do some Yoga and meditation and people have an image of this person to be spiritual. This is far from it, and please go into shastra definitions of spirituality first.

2. There is a trick in this Yoga, so it can reverse, so what we see as a Kalasarpa, may in reality function as Kalamrita and vice versa. This segment is taught in detail in Devaguru Brihaspati centres. This can altaughether mislead an astrologer and all predicition and remedial measures may go in vain

3. The term “broken” Kalasarpa and Kalamrita Yoga also carries a lot of different interpretations and misconceptions. I was taught that the broken kalasarpa may actually mean that a person start going towards bhoga or material direction and then leave it and turns spiritual. On the other hand broken Kalamrita may imply that a person turns towards spirituality and end up leaving it , changing direction towards marriage ets. These two paths may alternate depending on several factors which need to be checked in the chart.

4. If the Yoga is not “broken” , the big puzzle remains as what is the way out. Astrologers are mostly silent about it.

The timing of this Yoga is impossible unless this rules are known. Very helpful tool in timing this Yoga is Rahu-Ketu Gochar, Guru progression, Kala Chakra, Navamsa and Shula Dasha.

4. There are certain grahas in particular chart of KSY and KMY which need to be focused. By examining their strength, the whole effect of Yoga may be reversed and changed. Without this knowledge, a reading a KSY and KMY chart can be superficial without real understanding. I have been told not once by my Guru to keep silent about the nodes, until the right time comes. Nowdays, the nodes are not in a good mood towards Guru, so I will continue in a near future…

My intention to initiate this is to draw more attention to these specific chart, where a real effort to understand them is required by all of us.
